Cause of Action Institute is looking to hire a Law Clerk for Summer 2017 to advance a free society through strategic investigations and litigation to fight unconstitutional government overreach and expose waste, fraud, and abuse in the government. The organization is an independent 501(c) (3) public interest group that uses public advocacy and legal reform tools to ensure greater transparency in government, protect taxpayer interests, and promote economic freedom.


Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform legal research and writing in the areas of litigation, transactional, non-profit, and general law.
  • Work on a variety of projects (investigations, reports, etc.) as assigned to assist Senior Counsel and others throughout the organization to examine government action/inaction.
  • Understand and maintain 100% compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications:
  • Completed 1L (first) year and currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellence in academics and good class standing. Strong performance in public-law related course work preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest or familiarity in the Freedom of Information Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and other statutory schemes in the public law field.
  • Provide strong references.
  • An understanding of free market principles and a passion for advancing the mission of the organization is required.
  • Submittal of LSAT scores and unofficial transcripts encouraged but not required, and can be uploaded along with your resume and cover letter

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage guest experience and event execution at biannual VIP events for 500+ business and philanthropic leaders.
  • Coordinate with event venues, including on food and beverage orders.
  • Lead nationwide venue searches and manage site selection for future events.
  • Manage relationships with various event vendors, including on décor, transportation, and photography.
  • Research best practices and develop and execute strategies to continuously improve our events.
  • Measure effectiveness of events in achieving their objectives.
  • Work closely with the Event Art Director to produce signage and installations that contribute to the overall event experience.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required
  • 3+ years’ experience in a professional environment is required
  • Direct experience in planning and executing both small and large-scale events and conferences

  • Ability to multi-task, execute under tight deadlines, and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure

Freedom Partners Shared Services (FP Shared Services) is seeking an End User Support Analyst (Desktop Support) to provide expert support and customer service to FP Shared Services client organizations. This position will report to the End User Support Manager. FP Shared Services’ team is comprised of people who bring expertise from all areas – HR, recruiting, technology, facilities – just to name a few. As an End User Support Analyst with FPSS, a typical day might include the following:
• Evaluate technical problems throughout our clients’ office suite.
• Identify and repair problems that fall outside of the Freedom Partners Shared Services End User Support responsibilities, or reach out to appropriate parties to coordinate repairs.
• Aid with service desk tickets to ensure customers have their issues addressed in a timely manner.
• Assist with the technical aspects of ongoing technology projects.
• Maintain internal ticket & request.
• Research and analysis that is associated with acquiring new technology for projects as they arise; also for device selection for employee device replacements.
• Research and implement best practices and ways to improve services while lowering costs and increasing customer focus and efficiency.
• Review software, cloud applications, and other technical services used throughout the organization and find single solutions that meet all departments needs while meeting our security standards and integration with existing platforms when possible.
• Assist with high importance meetings & events, providing real time dedicated support to solve problems when they arise.
• Work with external technology engineers to solve problems as they arise within the organization to resolve the issue in a timely manner.

You have:
• 1+ years’ experience with technical platforms
• Strong analytical & organizational skills
• Proven ability to thrive in a customer facing role
• Familiarity with training tools, technology, and methodologies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deliver an understanding of complex technical topics to non-technical staff
• Willingness to learn new technologies quickly and take on new challenges
